We were very excited to visit Wichita and find out about the hiking in Wichita. It was great to see so much great space in a city so large!
Swanson Park - 93.22 acres - This tract of land, acquired in 1975, has been designated a Wichita Wild Habitat area.
Air Capital Memorial Park - 9.55 acres. This wooded trail system consists of three loops with a total distance of 1.8 miles and is often utilized by bike riders, but is friendly to those walking and hiking as well.
Pawnee Prairie Nature Park - 624.49 acres. Pawnee Prairie Park is located south of, and separate from, Air Capital Park but they are only a few minutes apart by car. This semi-regional park along the Cowskin Creek contains a variety of plants and wildlife. The park has been designated as a Wichita Wild Habitat area and is the largest in the Wichita Park system. Facilities include a five-mile marked trail in three connecting loops as well as many unmarked trails.
