Here in Spencer, NC on this beautiful Sunday afternoon, we see NS 911, CSX 911 & 1776 all joined together to be moved from the North Carolina Transportation Museum back to Linwood Yard. The previous day (June 22nd), these units took part in the annual NCTM Firetruck show being displayed around the museum property for photo shoots. Unfortunately, I missed the event, so this was my day to come up and get as many shots of these units together before being separated.
The light power movement took place at the south end of the museum. Once off the museum property, they reversed through the Old Yard, past CP Spencer, and taken onto the mainline. from here, CSX 1776 “The Spirit of our Armed Forces,” would lead the move back to Linwood yard running as NS P01.
This would come as my second time seeing all of these units but my first time catching them all together. Also, wanted to add that as a railfan who has had family and friends serve in Fire and Military service, it is certainly amazing to see NS & CSX take part in honoring all those who served. And to all who are serving and who have served, thank you for your service! As always, enjoy!
