Essentials of Integral Politics: 10 Principles for a new political operating system

This video is based on the recording of Elke Fein's presentation at the Integral Europe Conference (IEC) 2023 at Siofok, Hungary on May 28, 2023.

It makes the point for a paradigm shift in politics based on an integral consciousness. Why? Politics as we know it is outdated. It lacks the tools, the operating system and the vision to address the challenges humanity is facing at the necessary speed and with the right priorities today. It seems that its very “operating system”, consisting of core assumptions about the world, motivational drivers, typical behaviors and instruments for decision-making and problem-solving as they have evolved from the early days of European parliamentarism, is no longer fit for purpose.
The presentation introduces ideas for an upgrade of our political culture and systems based on an integral paradigm of understanding and doing politics. In a nutshell, it is defined by ten core principles:

Integral Politics…
1. integrates more perspectives, in particular inner dimensions;
2. is based on a developmental understanding of political action logics;
3. works with states of presence and awareness;
4. is grounded in spirituality: connected with all living beings;
5. serves a higher purpose, the common good, that transcends particularistic perspectives;
6. translates the integral understanding of the nature of human beings into corresponding structures, institutions and politics;
7. walks its talk by translating theory into experiential praxis;
8. acts with lightness and playfulness;
9. rethinks agency on the basis of a quantum social science paradigm;
10. offers space for not-knowing and emergence.
