This is how I adjusted the valve clearance on my 1976 Honda CB500T.
The shop manual calls for a 0.03mm (0.0012 in) clearance. I used 0.0015 feeler gauge, which I was told it was acceptable.
This might be applicable to other Honda twin of the time, but clearance figures might be different.
