Hello Everyone Welcome to Victoria's Media and today we are in Lincoln xmas market, the traditional Christmas Market, where you can enjoy cultural entertainment and stroll around over 150 stalls nestled within the medieval square and surrounding area.A contemporary cathedral city with over 2,000 years of history, Lincoln is the perfect place to visit over the festive period. Take a trip back through time and stroll along the cobbles the cultural quarter of the city. The medieval square between the impressive Norman castle and magnificent gothic cathedral is the perfect backdrop for the Christmas Market.

The history of Lincoln Christmas Market

Lincoln Christmas Market first began in 1982, with just 11 stalls. Lincoln was the first city to host a traditional German Christmas market in the UK, as part of its twinning with the picturesque town of Neustadt in Germany. 40 years on, the Christmas Market has continued to grow annually, with a plethora of stalls now hosted across the Cathedral Quarter. This beloved event attracts thousands of visitors to the city, many of whom return year after year. Although the market continues to evolve, the German origins of the first ever event are still honoured, with stallholders from Neustadt bringing their crafts, food and drink to Lincoln. mazingly, Lincoln Christmas Market has only been cancelled three times in its 40 year history. Bad weather prevented the event in 2010 and 2017, followed by the covid pandemic in 2020.
