Overview of installing Conduit or Sleeve for Network Cabling - More Here - https://www.bridgecable.com/industrie...
For new hires in Data wiring we review some important parts of getting a conduit with bushings onsite. At times this is also called a sleeve and protects the cabling from the ceiling to the cable ladder tray or even to the rack if you are skipping that. There is a ratio of the amount of cabling in the conduit....we like to fill out the conduits to about 40%. This way if we need to install more cabling down the road we can add with ease.

A conduit sleeve in network cabling is considered "nice to have" because it provides extra protection to the cables by shielding them from potential damage caused by sharp edges, abrasion, or pressure when passing through walls, floors, or other obstacles, essentially allowing for easier cable pulls and minimizing the risk of cable damage during installation or future maintenance.
Key benefits of using a conduit sleeve:
Physical protection:
The sleeve acts as a barrier against sharp edges on holes or openings, preventing the cable from being cut or frayed when pulled through.
Strain relief:
It can help distribute pressure evenly along the cable when pulled, reducing the risk of damage at the entry point.
Organization:
Conduit sleeves can help keep cables neatly bundled and organized, especially when multiple cables need to pass through the same opening.
Future flexibility:
If you need to replace or add cables later, the conduit sleeve allows for easier pulling of new cables without disturbing the existing infrastructure.
Important points to consider:
Not always mandatory:
Depending on the installation situation, a conduit sleeve may not be strictly required by building codes, but it is generally considered a good practice, particularly in high-traffic areas or where cables might be exposed to harsh conditions.
Remember, unistrut, push on plastic bushings and whatever size conduit you plan to use, typically the biggest is 4 Inches, pretty huge.
