Frederick, having not seen a woman the entire time he was with the pirates, has concluded that, despite their age difference, his nursemaid Ruth is reasonably attractive and would make him a fine wife. But as they prepare to leave together, off in the distance he hears the strains of Major General Stanley's daughters, frolicking and singing as they approach the shore. Frederick, sighting them through his spyglass, is smitten by their beauty. He shuns Ruth and sets his sights on making one of these young ladies his wife. But, still in pirates garb, he decides that he better hide for now until he can appear before them in decent clothing. As Frederick hides, in come the beautiful ladies who, assuming that they are quite all alone in this secluded rocky den, delight in their freedom.
