पाकिस्तानची न्यायव्यवस्था सध्या गंभीर संकटातून जात आहे. लाहोर हायकोर्टाचे न्यायमूर्ती शम्स महमूद मिर्झा यांनी २७व्या घटनादुरुस्तीच्या विरोधात राजीनामा देऊन या संकटाला आणखी गती दिली. सुप्रीम कोर्टाचे माजी न्यायमूर्ती जिया महमूद यांचे पुत्र असलेले मिर्झा २०१४ पासून लाहोर हायकोर्टात कार्यरत होते. राजीनाम्यानंतर त्यांनी म्हटले की या घटनादुरुस्तीनंतर ते प्रामाणिकपणे पदावर राहू शकत नाहीत.
Pakistan’s judicial system is currently going through a serious crisis. Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza of the Lahore High Court has intensified this crisis by resigning in protest against the 27th Constitutional Amendment. Mirza, who is the son of former Supreme Court judge Zia Mehmood and has been serving in the Lahore High Court since 2014, said after his resignation that he could not continue in his position with honesty after this amendment.
