Type O Negative - Complete Discography Retrospective

It’s October, the spooky season, and what better way to celebrate than taking a journey through the entire output of the legendary gothic metallers, Type O Negative?

Fronted by the late, great Peter Steele, Type O Negative were a phenomenal force within the metal world, bridging all sub-genres from thrash metal, doom metal and hardcore punk, mixing those with gothic rock and pop sensibilities. The band had a flair for the spooky, the ridiculous, and, well, the more darker side to life, and created some of the most interesting records of the 90s and the 00s.

Prepare your pumpkin spice latte (or chalice of fresh blood) and enjoy half hour or so of gothic misery and doom.

CORRECTIONS:

In the section on The Origin Of The Feces I refer back to the cover of Slow, Deep And Hard, saying you’ve already seen “your man’s shaft” - this was just a rumour, and a Freudian slip on my part, not to mention an awful attempt from a Welshman at using Irish slang. Anyway, the cover photo on Slow, Deep And Hard was taken from an adult magazine, and is in fact, not Peter Steele himself.

When talking about the tracklisting for Bloody Kisses, on several occasions I incorrectly refer to “We Hate Everyone” as “We Hate Everybody”, because I’m an idiot.

I neglected to mention The Beatles medley on World Coming Down - this cost Roadrunner Records a lot of money and should have been brought up.

Regarding Peter’s untimely death, there seems conflicting sources on whether the cause of death was heart failure or whether it was sepsis, as I reported here. The more modern articles and retrospectives on Peter and Type O Negative seem to cite sepsis, but I apologise if this is incorrect.
