Lake Tillery NC 4K (DJI Mavic Pro Footage) in the beautiful Uwharrie Mountains!!

Lake Tillery is a beautiful lake that is between Falls Reservoir and Blewett Falls Lake in the Uwharrie Mountains. Lake Tillery is 15 miles - SE of Albemarle, NC.

This beautiful 5,260 acre lake was constructed in 1928 by Carolina Power and is owned today by Duke Power. The dam was constructed to increase the efficiency of the Blewett Hydroelectric plant 25 miles downstream. Lake Tillery was created by impounding the Pee Dee River, which is created by the confluence of the Yadkin River and the Uwharrie River several miles to the north.

Lake Tillery was originally named Norwood Lake after the close by town Norwood. It was later named Lake Tillery after Paul A. Tillery who was President of Carolina Power Co.

Lake Tillery has 117.8 miles of shoreline and has a max. depth of 200 feet. A lot of boaters and residents enjoy this beautiful lake year around. Lake Tillery is a full recreational lake which allows jet skis, water skiing, swimming, tubing, boat docks, fishing, and other water activities.

Lake Tillery is surrounded by mountains with the Uwharrie Mountains on one side and Morrow Mountain State Park on the other side. Lake Tillery is part of the Uwharrie Lakes Regions. The Lakes in this region are:
