I can’t believe how much it cost to catch all these fish from Britain's MOST FAMOUS river

It's late summer and I finally get to check out a famous stretch of the magnificent River Thames, near Oxford, called SANFORD MEADOWS.

Having only fished the river a handful of times, largely around my home in Surrey, this would prove to be a particularly memorable angling adventure. Partly because it's a stretch of river I've read about - including impressive match results - ever since I was a young lad in Sheffield.

Sanford was always known for consistently good match weights and big hauls of roach in particular. And as a lifelong roach fishing addict the Thames has already been good to me in recent years, but I've yearned to see whether this part of the river deserves its reputation for being a ROACH MECCA, with quality red fins often falling for traditional hemp and tare baits.

I was so keen, in fact, that I signed up for a another fishing club - Littlemore Angling Association - which proved to be a brilliant decision. The cost for doing so also blew my mind. I sent them just £17 via PayPal and a few days later I received a GOLDEN TICKET in the post! A YEAR'S membership for the price of a few beers...
