2019 - Northumberland High School Demolition, Heathsville, Virginia

The demolition of "old" Northumberland High School in 2019 was a bittersweet moment for alumni, but it paves the way for developments at the Northumberland YMCA to better serve the community.

The oldest portion of NHS was built in 1939 of brick and true cinder-block construction. Despite being damaged in a storm by a microburst, much of the older construction was still stronger than the portions of the school built in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
