The Audi RS3 Sportback S tronic is a high-performance hot hatch that has dominated the compact sports car segment since its debut. The first-generation RS3 Sportback was introduced in 2011, based on the Audi A3 (8P) platform. It featured a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine, producing 340 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, paired with the seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. This setup allowed the RS3 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, setting a new standard for hot hatches.
In 2015, Audi launched the second-generation RS3 Sportback (8V), further refining its performance and design. The updated 2.5-liter TFSI engine now produced 367 horsepower, later increased to 400 horsepower in the 2017 facelift model, making it the most powerful five-cylinder production engine at the time. This version also featured a lighter aluminum engine block and a more aggressive exterior design.
The third-generation RS3 Sportback (8Y) debuted in 2021, bringing significant improvements. It retained the legendary 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine, producing 400 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, but introduced the RS Torque Splitter, enhancing handling by actively distributing power between the rear wheels. The seven-speed S tronic transmission ensured lightning-fast gear changes, while the quattro AWD system improved traction and driving dynamics.
