When I was just 1 of 150 Local Concert Working Crew + as my 2nd job working concerts As 1 of only 8 Local Concert Show Call Stage Hand Working Crew + my 3rd job as the Local Concert Working Drum Tech while never owning a drum set Haha Not until many years later + as my 4th job as the Local Concert Working #2 Fork Operater for outdoor concerts So w Bob Dylan we finished working what's called The IN for Bob Dylan's Concert w opening act Jann Arden & now a lil after working The IN is when Our boss Rudie had us 8 Working Stage Hands backstage & Rudie says okay Just got told That Bob Dylan's tour bus is gonna pull in backstage in about 6-10 mins & Rudie was told That if even 1 band member! Sees anyone backstage! Other than the 1 security guard behind a security desk So if 1 person is there They will simply back that bus back & out & there will be No Bob Dylan Concert! & the tour bus will instead Head for their next music arena on the tour So my boss sternly & jokenly says ..... Who The Fuck???!!!.....Is Bob Dylan??? Haha So Rudie shooed my other 7 Stage Hands out of the backstage area All except me! I said screw it! I ain't budging! Not for Bob Dylan! & for some odd reason Rudie didn't give a hairy rat's tail! So Rudie said Stay here if you want! So I did exactly that! I stayed & in plain sight I simply sat On one of our rolling cable boxes on wheels & I parked it Where the band will have no choice! But to walk right past me Cause of where I parked my rolling cable box container on wheels & then in comes the tour bus & when it stopped There was nothing! No movement! For like a minute Then the tour bus's door opens & out come the band members & each & every band member looked me square in the eye & as they walked right past me Each & every band member said hello haha So now it's a lil later & nowwwwwww Jann opens the show & inbetween minor things That I still had to do backstage All during Jann's performance So inbetween I'd boogie over to Stage Right & then straight up past the rows Where it's at times For audience seating But this show wasn't sold out Was a smaller audience On that evening Is why I sat in the marked off area & I later realized That Jann must have seen me! Go back & forth Quite a few times & as I was also the only person! In that out of limits area & then Jann's awesome! A performance came to an end So then Us 8 Local Stage Hands we speedly walked on stage & while we removed Jann's band gear Our Roadie's moved Bob Dylan's band gear forward From Up Stage to Down Stage While we removed & then quickly packed away Jann's band gear Into their proper transporting cases & the whole time doing that Jann kept walking on over to where my Roadie & I were packing & she'd talk to me a lil & then walk away & then she'd be back again! & Jann kept doing that So my Roadie says Ross! I think Jann likes you! As Jann rarely comes over again & again! & again & again! & me! I was just happy That Jann had a min here & there to chat w me Jann was simply marvelous I was flattered at the very least haha & then it's show time again & I'm now standin stageside beside Stage Left w my Roadie & we worked w the Mini Organ-Mandolin Musician & man did our musician ever look highhhh!!!! At least it seemed that way So my Roadie told me That this musician has done the same routine For so many years That it's now for instance A certain part of the show comes & our organ player stops playing & then he stands up & my Roadie removes the organ stool & passes it to me Then our musician takes 2 steps backwards & then my Roadie passes the mandolin to our musician Right after I passed it To my Roadie first & then after that! He passed the mandolin back to my Roadie & from my Roadie to me To take care of & while our organ player mandolin player took 2 steps forward As I at the same time passed the stool to my Roadie & my Roadie puts that stool back under our musician's butt & then he plays his organ So I was told! Haha & I do not judge! But! He looked soooooo way way wayyyy higher! Than I've ever been! Or so it seemed to me! Haaaaa! Haha - ML&RAlways
