In this episode, Dani Foffa talks to academic and mother Efrat Shokef Ph.D who shares her profound NDE following a car crash. Efrat slipped instantly into a realm of breathtaking luminosity—feather‑soft “clouds,” profound stillness, distant bells, and an overwhelming current of unconditional love. Guided by a luminous presence that feels like her grandfather, she was shown scenes of human life and choice, senses a boundary she cannot cross, and receives the message: “It’s not your time.” Returning to a broken body begins a long integration—months in the hospital, years of healing—and a transformation that reshapes her parenting, work, and view of death as a joyful birth back into spirit.
Efrat also shares how to navigate the integration process, why skeptics should start with direct energy practices, and what it means to raise children as luminous beings, honoring their high frequencies and authentic paths. We explore love as a state of being (not emotion), ethics in spiritual work, shamanic practices, and the meaning of life as the expression of our soul’s essence—here, now, on Earth, so be sure to watch until the end!

What is an NDE?
A near-death experience (NDE) is typically a profound, life changing, intensely emotional experience that usually occurs during a clinical crisis and has common characteristics and aftereffects. It is not a dream, hallucination, or mental illness (Greyson, 1983). There are no predictive variables to identify who will have an NDE. They happen to people of all ages, religions, socio-economic groups, cultures, educational backgrounds, and belief systems. They occur under a variety of circumstances such as accidents, near-drownings, illnesses, combat, surgical procedures, and childbirth. Following an NDE, experiencers (NDErs) often display some common aftereffects. Research has established a set of common NDE characteristics and long-term aftereffects. Theories used to explain near-death experiences in purely physical terms have been proven inadequate by NDE researchers and others.
