Black Supermen | Above the Law - Uncle Sam's Curse (1994)

Despite the dominance of Death Row, the disregard of their role in the G-Funk phenomenon, and the underperformance of their output, Above the Law still had the backing of their boss Eazy-E and his struggling-but-striving company, Ruthless Records. Inspiration from a highly acclaimed television movie, reinforcement from a regular guest on their previous albums, and some pretty cool album art propelled the Pomona trio’s third LP, UNCLE SAM’S CURSE, in 1994. Thematically, topically, and musically, it represents Above the Law, at probably the bleakest period of their Ruthless tenure, at the apex of their powers.
