These are 3 of my favorite recordings of the great Beverly Sills. I love these recordings!! These include:

3. Casta Diva (Norma) Vincenzo Bellini
As a child, Beverly Sills spoke Yiddish, Russian, Romanian, French and English. She attended Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, the same school as other famed singers Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond! I think it is hilarious listening to Sills in interviews. She has a rather sophisticated sound accent and one would never guess that she is originally from Brooklyn. Sills voice has been described as:
"precise, a little light", "accurate", "multicolored", "robust and enveloping",with "a cutting edge that can slice through the largest orchestra and chorus," soaring easily above high C". She was one of the most popular American opera singers of all time. I have included many lovely pictures of the amazing Beverly Sills in this video. Enjoy! Thanks for your comments.
