Video tutorial on how to knit Fisherman's rib stitch in 1-color knitted flat (Simple Stitch Series; traditional patterns). This stitch is worked on an odd number of stitches.
Pattern for scarf shown in video is provided below.
[Abbreviations: K=knit; K1b=knit into the stitch below; P=purl; st= stitch]
Materials for scarf:
Yarn: 1 skein of Lion brand Mandala yarn (5.3 oz or 150g, 100% acrylic; color Unicorn).
Needles: US size 5 (3.75 mm) knitting needles.
Extras: ruler or tape measure, scissors, tapestry needle to weave in yarn tails.
Finished size of scarf: 7.5 inches x 5 feet
Gauge: 17 sts in Fisherman's rib pattern = 3.5 inches
Pattern for scarf:
Cast on 37 number of sts. Knit Fisherman's rib as follows;
Set-up row: K all sts.
Row 1: K1, *K1b, P1. Repeat from * to the end.
Row 2: K1, *P1, K1b. Repeat from *to last 2 sts, then P1, K1.
Repeat these 2 rows until work measures 5 feet or desired length, ending on a Row 2. Then cast off in simple rib pattern and weave in yarn tails. Block work if desired.
