Of the many treble compositions I have written, this work speaks most to me of serenity, purity, and a coupling of emotion and virtue. Perhaps some texts - be they written a thousand years ago or penned yesterday - connect to the human psyche in a way impossible to articulate. But then, some things are not meant to be diminished to mere words, but exist in the three-dimensional state of faith, purpose, and truth. Regardless of one's belief, history records the person of Mary as a universal example of purity, empathy, and quiet compassion. She did not dictate how to live, but modeled it for all humanity.
