Since 2012, Astro Kem Badminton is held to encourage all Malaysian youths to develop and showcase their badminton talents. Through the years, we are privileged to have had seen 15,000 kids through the programme.
At this year’s Astro Kem Badminton, we received an overwhelming response with 2,855 bright, young shuttlers showing up for our selection camps held across six states in Malaysia including Sabah and Sarawak. Under the guidance of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) coaches, 58 participants were chosen to participate in our recent Kuala Lumpur Intensive Training. From there, 30 more will be making their way to Tokyo, Japan for the final training with the Nippon Badminton Association (NBA).
