The Beatles first released 'Eight Days a Week' in December 1964 on their fourth album, 'Beatles for Sale'. It was later released as a single in the US and in several other countries, but not here in the UK.
Paul McCartney initially said the expression 'eight days a week' was one of Ringo Starr's malapropisms, but later suggested he heard it used by a an over-worked chauffeur who was driving him to John Lennon's house while he was banned from driving (Paul had three convictions for driving over the speed limit in one year). Ringo has said he is not the source of the phrase.
