Two Color Fishermans Rib Hat

The two color fisherman's rib is a beautiful plush ribbing stitch that is so simple to do. It creates a beautiful two color soft squishy knitted fabric making for a perfect warm hat. This hat is a simple way to become familiar with the two color fisherman's rib. It is knitted in the round which is actually much easier to knit than the two color fisherman's rib flat. And no fancy decreases at the top. An easy hat to learn the two color fisherman's rib for your first project.

Written Instructions for this hat:
US7 Circular Needle
Worsted Weight Yarn
With Color A cast on 50 stitches. Join in the round
Set Up Row: Color A. K1, P1 repeat. Place stitch marker at end of round.
Row 1: Color A. K1B, P1 Repeat
Row 2: Color B. K1, P1B Repeat
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 till piece measures 12” from cast on edge (for folded over brim…10” for straight brim). Ending with Row 1.
Optional Decrease Round: Cut off Color B, with Color A knit one round with K2tog repeated entire round.
Cut yarn with a tail, thread a darning needle and slip all stitches to your darning needle, pull tight to cinch up the top. Sew a couple stitches at the top to tightly close up the gap.
Add pom pom if desired.
