After recovering from a broke toe, I am in the gym working on my kicks. Sorry for the typos in the text. Hope you enjoy.

This video did something different in the rendering process along with a typo swap in roundhouse kick with side kick (my bad). I am re-uploading this with a slight edit from the earlier one today.

TAEKWON-DO - In Korean, tae (태) means "foot"; kwon (권) means "fist"; and do (도) means "way" or "method". Therefore, taekwondo can be translated as "the way or method of destroying with the hands and feet. The name taekwondo is also written as taekwon-do, tae kwon-do, or tae kwon do by various organizations.

BELT - In most Okinawan, Japanese, and Korean martial arts practitioners wear a long colored cloth belt around their waist. They are generally long enough to be wrapped twice around the wearer's waist and then tied in a square knot, with 10 to 15 inches hanging from either side of the knot. Before the 20th century most belts were colorless, but since students were prohibited from washing their belts, belts grew steadily darker through the years of accumulated sweat and soil. When the color belt system of rank was incorporated, it was arranged so that the belt color became darker as the student advanced in rank, ending with the black belt, the highest level of proficiency. Belts vary according to style and type of martial art; in some schools there is only a small color tip on the end of the bet to show rank. The most common colors used in martial arts are white, yellow, orange, blue, green, purple, brown, red, and black.

BLACK BELT - Color of belt worn in Japanese, Okinawan, and Korean martial arts. Its wearer is generally recognized as an expert. In most styles there are 10 degrees of black belt, called Dan (rank; degree), in which the latter five are honorary. In some styles, the recognized master, a 10th degree black belt, will at his option wear a red belt.

DAN - Category of rank in the Japanese, Okinawan, and Korean martial arts that classifies students, instructors, and masters who wear the black belt.

DEGREE - Black belt rank given in a martial art to one who has completed a prescribed course of study. Though no such ranks were issued originally in the Chinese styles, other than master and student, many American kung-fu instructors have adopted a system similar to that used in karate and other arts.

KATA COMPETITION -- Multi-divisional martial arts competition; participants perform individual chosen kata, which are judged usually by five officials under a point system. Judging of kata is generally based on poise, balance, stance, and precise control of movement. Eye movement must parallel body moves, attention must not stray, and power is a prerequisite. Judges deduct points for faults, awarding marks between one and ten.

THE concept for martial ballet forms was first derived in the mid to late seventies. Tournament forms competition was in an embryonic stage, and most tournament competitors performed the patterns that were associated with their rank. Though these "rank forms" displayed true aesthetic essence, (when performed properly), they lacked the flash and dramatics that had been displayed via television and movie media.

IT was soon realized that there was a need for patterns that would give tournament competitors a greater challenge, and lend color and excitement to their performance. To accommodate this need, Grandmaster Jhoon Rhee along with a variety of masters and instructors developed the martial ballet patterns.

ORIGINALLY set to music, these forms enhanced and embellished contemporary movements and technique.
