Our day in the Leknes area of the Lofoten Islands. Tenders were in operation to get us to and from the small port. We did a coach tour of the area including the lovely fishing village of Ballstad. The best was to come later as we cruised past Reine and Moskenesoya on our way to our next day's destination port of Bodo. Suddenly a large pod of whales were spotted and as the Captain brought Spirit of Adventure to a standstill, the whales came ever closer until they were alongside us! There was great excitement on the ship as passengers sought to see them through the lounge windows. Absolutely fantastic experience to see them in the wild and close up.
