About our program
The Troy High School Theatre program was established by Thomas Moore, the school's first Theatre instructor. He invigorated the stage with his passion for teaching the art of Theatre, which was evident in each production. Moore's lasting impact stays with each actor, technician, and lover of theatre that he inspired during his 32 year teaching career. Both Mr. Henson and Mr. Huffered are graduates of Troy High School and former students of Tom Moore.

The Technical Theatre program was formalized into an official class in 2017. The class explores the duties of stage technicians and their contribution to the aesthetics of a dramatic production. the program now has over one hundred student technicians specializing solely in the technical aspect of theatre, including construction, painting, light and sound design, costume and prop management, makeup design, stage crew, and stage management

The choirs of Troy's Vocal Music program are flourishing as they continue to receive top ratings and awards at festivals and competitions. With an emphasis on vocal production and musicianship, Vocal Ensemble, Ladies First, and Concert Choir present multiple performances per year showcasing these passionate singers.
