Fly Fishing the Conejos

Usually on my trips to the west, and Colorado in particular, the Conejos River is my first stop for a few days of fly fishing. This year it was my last stop before heading home. I spent 10 days exploring the area but mostly spending my time fly fishing. Some days were better than others but there was never a bad day. For one of my days on the river, I was joined by a friend, the Professor, who I first met years ago as a fly fishing guide on the Conejos. We've remained friends ever since.
A word about what this video is not. You won't see much live action that brings a trout to the net. You won't see many photos of a trout jammed up to a camera. I mostly fish solo and I'm just too clumsy trying to juggle a rod, a net and a camera all at the same time. You'll see what I mean in one short clip. And since I'm catch and release, I want to return the trout to the water as quickly as I can and spare it from a photo shoot. What you will see is a lot of great water and scenery. And since the Conejos is a well known (almost too well known) river in southern Colorado, I didn't mind revealing its location in this video.
