On my 100 year old French movement the pendulum suspension spring was broken and none easily available from suppliers. I adapted a stock suspension spring to the original dimensions and fitted it into the mechanism. It was a bit of a challenge and if you are faced with replacing the Brocot pendulum suspension spring on an old French clock this video could be of help in giving you some useful pointers and ideas. It is not the ideal solution in the eyes of the experts, but it is a solution - it was the result of my own exploration and experiences, it worked and was inexpensive.
