In the course of many years collecting and studying buttons I couldn’t help but notice the continuing stream of fresh people to the hobby with questions regarding military buttons. This is a subject that often takes a background in other areas of collecting and a gradual trajectory of familiarization to avoid feeling overwhelmed or discouraged. The result is this first attempt at a fairly straightforward overview of a typical accumulation of decent quality U.S. military buttons one may encounter, with a little bit of everything in the mix.
