Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Gameplay on Nintendo Switch Lite

Today I checked out the new Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, played on my Nintendo Switch Lite. Here’s how it holds up:

🌍 CrossWorlds Mechanic
The biggest hook is the CrossWorlds system—midway through races, the track warps into a brand-new themed world. It keeps races fresh, chaotic, and unpredictable.

🎭 Roster & Customization
At launch, there are 23 characters plus tons of ways to personalize: vehicles, gadgets, decals, and styles. I had fun experimenting with different builds to find what fits.

⚡ Gameplay Feel
Fast, chaotic, and satisfying when it clicks. The drift + boost system creates exciting moments—especially dodging hazards or making last-second overtakes.

🎮 Performance on Switch Lite
Runs at around 30 fps. It’s not the prettiest—textures blur, jagged edges show, and some tracks have fuzzy loading—but it’s still playable and fun in handheld mode, plus it works fine in local split-screen.

🔻 What Could Be Better
• Visual compromises: textures & edges can look rough.
• Track design: some are too cramped, leading to chaotic pile-ups.
• Item balance: RNG and aggressive items sometimes overshadow skill.
• Limited modes at launch: just Grand Prix, Time Attack, and a few team-based options. More content would go a long way.

⭐ Final Thoughts
I had a good time overall—Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is fun, vibrant, and unique enough to stand out in the kart racing space. If you’re into fast-paced racers with variety, it’s worth checking out. That said, I’ll probably wait for future updates before diving back in.
