Alonso Mudarra, Fantasia X (arr. Declan Zapala)

Welcome to my YouTube channel where I post random videos of things I've created from month to month! This video was created for my segment in Guitar Techniques Magazine Issue GT363 (August 2024). This month I have transcribed Renaissance guitarist Alonso Mudarra's masterpiece 'Fantasia X' from the original Spanish vihuela tablature to classical guitar. The vihuela's tuning was EADF#BE but I have revised the fingerings so that it can work in standard tuning (EADGBE) on a classical guitar. It's a fun piece to play, especially when all the tricky cross-string Campanella notes ring out together! Enjoy!
