This video shows how I raised up my new, tilt-over Universal Towers model 15-40 tower, with my new Mosley TA-63-N 6-band (and very heavy - 60lbs.) beam atop it.
I mounted (and heavily reinforced) a powered winch in my attic, ran the cable out a hole I cut in the eve, and raised it like that. We found that the angle of the cable would end up cutting into the fascia siding, so my friend Michael, KD4EHM came up with a great, simple idea of simply using a second cable, attached to the first with a pulley and attached near the base of the tower, so that the second cable could pull down on the main raising cable enough to keep it from cutting into the fascia.
Other than initially having that second cable too taught and having to lower it, loosen it, and re-raise the tower, it went quite well.
(Michael is the one in the dark shirt. I'm the one in the white shirt.)
