My nephew Jesse came up to MN last minute and wanted to get on some fish. With a busy weekend looming, my availability was limited. So, we went out on a two day excursion, with only a couple of hours to fish each day. With little to no time to venture farther, I just decided to hit up some local river smallies to get on some fish!
It’s very rare to catch a smallie over 3lbs here but we went after numbers. With fall looming, we found a staging group of fish that were ambushing anything from a drop off onto a cobblestone flat. We only landed about 60 fish, with no giants, BUT, we would’ve easily had a 100+ fish day if we had more time. Regardless, it was a fun time and the no-skunk river still lived up to my expectations!
