Finally Sharma Transports inaugurated their Volvo 9600 Sleeper bus. Sharma Transports is usually the first operator to purchase any bus from Volvo. After a long wait, finally they ran their first Volvo 9600 Sleeper bus on 9th of February, 2023. This bus was actually the first Volvo Sleeper, however due to some issues, the bus was not rolled out. I had earlier traveled by the first Volvo 9600 Sleeper bus of Swamy Ayyappa Travels from Coimbatore to hyderabad. You can watch that video here:    • India's 1st Volvo 9600 Sleeper Bus journey...  

Sharma Transports are now running Two Volvo 9600 Sleeper buses on Bangalore to Mumbai route. These buses are 15 mts. buses with 42 sleeper berths. I got the opportunity to travel on the inaugural day. The pricing was kept very reasonable as well. Last moment booking was for Rs. 1300. The bus will start from Kalasipalyam (their Head Office) at 2:30 pm. It is scheduled to reach Mumbai (Borivali) by 8:30 am. This bus will then again leave from Mumbai at 12:30 pm and reach Kalasipalyam by 8:30 am. So the pricing and the bus timings are really good. Our bus however left from Kalasipalyam by 3:20 pm due to pooja and some documents. The bus is locked at 80 kmph. We reached Sion at 10:42 am, which was quite late, however inaugural journeys are usually a bit late. The bus crew were very supportive and quite experienced. Total journey time was 20 hours approximately. Since it is speed locked at 80 there is no chance to try & recover the lost time. The bus interiors are same as the VECV ones in KSRTC Swift Volvo buses. Sharma Transports is likely to introduce more buses in coming weeks.
