US equity futures march higher after the Nasdaq 100 notched another record high. Gold futures jump as the US put tariffs on 1-kilo gold bars, threatening to upend trade flows from Switzerland. President Trump names White House Council of Economic Advisers chair Stephan Miran to replace the outgoing Fed Governor, Ariana Kugler. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan says he has the board's backing after the President's call for him to resign. Janet Henry of HSBC believes picking Miran makes sense because it gives the President optionality when picking a permanent replacement.
