Torre Squillace - SALENTO - Italia (qui Lucio Battisti scrisse due dei suoi più grandi successi)

Torre Squillace prende il nome dall’omonima torre costiera che sorge al confine settentrionale dell’area amministrata da Nardò a circa 15 km dallo stesso, immediatamente a sud della più conosciuta Porto Cesareo e poco più a nord dell’altra marina di Nardò, Sant’Isidoro.
La torre sorge a pochi metri dalla riva in un’area libera da costruzioni, per cui è circondata dalla natura con piante spontanee della macchia mediterranea e da un mare che presenta acque trasparenti. Il litorale nei dintorni è invece in parte sabbioso con molti tratti di scogliera. La costa di Torre Squillace è frequentata dagli abitanti dei comuni più vicini e data anche la minor presenza di spiagge è decisamente meno sovraccaricata dalla presenza di turisti, senza per questo offrire un mare di minore intensità e bellezza.

Non tutti sanno che Lucio Battisti si ispirò al Salento, e precisamente alla marina di Torre Squillace, per comporre due dei suoi capolavori: “Acqua azzurra, acqua chiara” e “la canzone del Sole”.

Era il lontano 1967, quando Lucio Battisti si innamorò nel Salento, ed insieme al compositore Mogol, e grazie all’amico Adriano Pappalardo, decise di comprare una villa qui.

La villa che si trova a Torre Squillace, fu il luogo dove il cantautore Lucio Battisti si ispirò per le sue canzoni.

Secondo alcune informazioni nacquero i capolavori “Acqua azzurra, acqua chiara”, ispirata proprio al mare salentino, e “La Canzone del sole”.

It was back in 1967, when Lucio Battisti fell in love in Salento, and together with the composer Mogol, and thanks to his friend Adriano Pappalardo, he decided to buy a villa here.
