Infections Rise but Delta Variant Is Dominant

Data released on Friday shows the number of COVID-19 infections going up in the UK. But whilst attention and restrictions are focused on the Omicron variant and how to contain it, it is the Delta variant that is causing the infection figures to rise. The World Health Organisation says today Omicron appears to be very transmissible, but the right response is to be prepared, cautious, and not to panic.
