Watching the original video of this song made my heart heavy. This really sad song has pictures of abandoned storefronts of what used to be small businesses. Watching these images with the music brought about a lot of different emotions from within me. The strongest of those emotions was pain. I've never been to these places and I never got to see how these shops were before they were shuttered. The sight of these ghosted places remind me of people, places, activities that once filled up my life. A lot of those things have ceased to exist. Someday everything that is around us will be gone. There will only be memories. Then the memories will also be gone. That is what makes our life beautiful.
