Hematite & Rose Quartz Fused Into 90 COE Glass - DANGEROUS - USE PRECAUTION - Fusing Stone in Glass

Fellow #glassholes , #glassobsessed , #glassartist , and #glassfusers ! I need assistance in my experiment. I fused #hematite filled with #rosequartz in 90 COE glass. I used the #paragon #quickfire 6 #kiln and quickly blasted to quick fuse. The #annealing did not happen properly because there is no way to control the rate and temperature in this #kiln due to no controls. Just a straight blast to 2000 °F until unplugged.

1.) Is this a thing?? Can we fuse natural stone and quartz in glass? If so, what COE is safe and needed and how can we find out which stone is compatible with which COE?

2.) THIS IS DANGEROUS! Blazing red hot metal in molten viscous liquid glass is not fun when there is a mishap. A blurb or sputter can lead to a terrible painful trip to the ER. WEAR PROTECTION.

3.) The rose quartz lost its color on the extreme heat. Does this happen with natural precious stones? Or could this mean it was fake glass chips? I’ve hear many natural stone chips and beads may be glass! 😅😬

4.) What metals or natural stone CAN be fused into glass safely? Can this be done in the kiln? Or can this experiment be accomplished over a torch with table working?
