One of Northland’s favorite tavern on the beautiful Parua bay near the Whangarei heads. Parua Bay is about 15 - 25+ minutes from the heart of Whangarei city. Incidentally, Whangarei is where they are currently building the amazing Hundertwasser Art Centre which is going to be a MUST see venue as soon as it opens. It was a good decision to visit the tavern. Although it was as full as COVID restriction would allow, the staff were attentive, the food was good, and a great relaxed atmosphere. It is a spectacular part of the Northland coastline with lots of inlets, bays, and small islands. The restaurant itself is right on the waterfront.
