안녕하세요. 잔프티Sanfty입니다. 연말은 잘 계획하고 있으신가요? 올해도 어김없이 곧 크리스마스가 오겠네요. 요맘때 쯤이면 밖에서 사람들과 만나는 재미로 보낼 시기인데 여러모로 아쉬운 올해입니다...
오늘은 캐롤 하나를 가져와 봤어요. 얼마나 캐롤을 안들었으면 저도 처음 알게된 곡인데...ㅎㅎ;; 저와 함께 일하시는 선생님의 편곡버전이 참 좋아서 연주해봤어요. 엊그제 급히 계획하고 하루밖에 연습을 못해 전문가스럽지는 않겠지만, 곡을 소개해드리는 취지로 준비해봤습니다~ 짧고 난이도도 낮은편이라 크리스마스 전까지 연습해보실 분들은 위의 링크로 들어가서 받아보시길 바랍니다! 여러분 모두 이번 한주도 즐거운 한주 보내세요~^^

유명한 크리스마스 노래 'Winter Wonderland'(1934년)는 펠릭스 버나드(1897~1944)가 작곡했으며, 리처드 스미스가 작사했어요. 1934년 리차드 스미스가 결핵으로 펜실베니아 요양소에 치료를 받는 동안에 밖에 눈이 쌓인 모습을 보고 가사를 만들었다고 하는데, 그러고 얼마 지나지 않아 돌아가셨어요. 여기에 펠릭스 버나드가 곡을 입혔지요. 초연은 1934년 리처드 힘버가 지휘하는 호텔 리츠 칼튼 오케스트라에 의해 RCA블루버드에서 처음 녹음되었다고 해요.
여러가지 편곡으로 연주되는 이 곡은, 클래식한 크리스마스 노래버전 중에서도 앤드류스 시스터즈와 페리 코모의 버전이 가장 높은 찬사를 받은 것으로 기록되어 있다고 합니다. 윈터 원더랜드의 가사는 당시 진정한 윈터 원더랜드를 만들어냄으로써 눈사람을 만들고, 따라서 환상을 현실로 바꾸는 전통과 함께 크리스마스에 눈이 내리는 마법 같은 일상에 크게 영향을 미쳤어요.

The famous Christmas song 'Winter Wonderland' (1934) was composed by Felix Bernard (1897-1944) and the lyricist was Richard B. Smith. Richard Smith wrote the lyrics in 1934 while he was being treated at a Pennsylvania nursing home for tuberculosis, but he passed away shortly afterwards. Felix Bernard put a song on it. The premiere was first recorded at RCA Bluebird in 1934 by the Hotel Ritz Carlton Orchestra led by Richard Humber.
Probably the most popular versions of this classic Christmas song were recorded to high acclaim by the Andrews Sisters and Perry Como. The lyrics of Winter Wonderland have undoubtedly contributed to the magical vision of snow at Christmas together with the tradition of building snowmen and therefore turning fantasy into reality by creating a real Winter Wonderland.
