A look at Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson, NJ, before its restoration. This former home to the New York Black Yankees of baseball's Negro League had become a ruin. The stadium's history and a personal story is shared by Brian Lopinto of The Friends of Hinchliffe Stadium, which was key to the stadium's renovation and reopening in May 2023. The 10,000-capacity, horseshoe style stadium was also once used by three Paterson football teams. The stadium was later used by Paterson public schools and shut down in 1997 until its 2023 renovation.
