We’re going to take a slight detour from our DSPy series to cover a different topic but one that is still relevant to DSPy. There is this framework now that many other frameworks (including DSPy) are adopting called LiteLLM. LiteLLM enables a user to basically use the same syntax to call any other LLM, and while they have many standard built-in providers, there may be a time when you need to add a special interface to account for your own custom API. In this #livecoding stream, we’ll specifically demonstrate how you can enable Apple’s MLX framework with the goal of helping you think how you might integrate your own custom LLM API.
