First impressions are everything!
As a musician I know that the drums are the most important and impactful part of any rhythm section. I take it very seriously when I’m in this seat.
It’s even more important when the artist you’re working with has never even rehearsed with you.
We spoke on the phone the night before, I ASSURED her I’d make her as comfortable as possible. We then met hours before the show and did a soundcheck THAT WAS IT! I had to go into my live R&B drumming bag on this one.. probably the first time I’ve had to do it on this level!
Here are the first few songs from a 30 min (non stop) set! I had a blast working with @myaplanet9 We played a bunch of her hits and in MY OWN CITY, for my people!!
We didn’t rehearse, I didn’t have a chance to practice on my own. But I STILL did my job!!!
