I kinda overslept on the Hades 2 release to be honest but now I'm fully awake.
Hades is one of the best action rogue-likes if not THE best action rogue-like and as such Hades 2 has big shoes to fit into. The game has similiar mechanics as the first game but still very distinct to make sure you don't just play the same game again. Mainly the new main character, Melinoe, prefers aspellcaster approach compares to Zagreus hack and slay style. She can perform various spells that can be enhanced by god boons. These spells take mana and time to cast however which leaves you open for attacks, so combat is overall slower and requires a more tactical approach, deciding when the best time to use your spells is.
I struggle a lot to adapt to this new combat style as you can see but I'm sure I eventually get the hang of it.
It's still very fun, I can already see the potential for combos, builds and of course you have the great storywriting to keep you hooked.
