Corumba Challenge 2024 (Closed Beta fan game) - PC Gameplay | Nimaginendo Games

"Corumba Challenge 2024" is a fan game made in one week (during the end of December 2024). For this I used "Super Mario Bros. Wonderland 87" (outdated) to make this project. The final battle was made on 12/31/2024, however, I will not show it in this video until I play it in full soon.

Corumba Challenge 2024 was one of the fastest projects I have ever developed in my life (the other being Super Mario Bros. Wonderland 87). The edited sprites, music selection, levels, ideas, mechanics, everything was done in just one week. And yes, it is complete! It only contains 4 worlds. I played it without difficulty, but it is worth remembering that this is a challenge game! So whoever plays it (when it is released) will probably have a little trouble in some levels. That is why the life counter is full of lives. The main inspirations for this fan game are the games "Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex's Strikes Back" and "Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped!" but adapted to a more "Super Mario Bros." style.

As level themes, I chose several classic games as references, such as Castle of Illusion, Alex Kidd, Donkey Kong Country, The Little Mermaid from NES (with a bit of Adventure Island 2/3), Super Mario Bros. 3, Contra and Mega Man. All mixed into one game and in a much more challenging way. And as the protagonist: @CorumbaPlay (Pablo) he is the same person who "Corumbinha" (the game's character) was inspired by. He is the same character from "Corumba Land" but in this one, he is very different from everything in Corumba Land, after all, I used Wonderland 87 to make it. XD

The fan game is complete, even in beta state. However, it lacks ending scenes.

Special guest: Wario! Who steals all the player's money and also cheats randomly.
