Have you ever done everything you possibly can to fix something in your RV or tiny home, to make it better than it was, and nothing you try seems to work? But then someone else comes to help—and they’re able to repair it because, unlike you, they actually know what they’re doing?

That’s exactly what happened this summer. Mr. Paric’s parents came to visit, and upon hearing about our RV water leak, offered their assistance in stopping it. An afternoon of familial bickering and tossing around of wrenches later, and the hoses under the sink were tight and the gush of water beside the RV water pump was stopped.

For the first time since we left our townhouse in Alberta last October, we took showers in the comfort of our own Winnebago home on wheels. They’re cold showers in a very small cubicle, but they’re ours—and we can have them at our leisure without having to pack up and try to be back before bedtime. The other blessing is being able to wash dishes in the sink without too much fuss.

We had sprung a leak in our long garden hose this spring and were literally trying to catch the water dripping from it as we used it to spray the soap off the dishes. I cried once they were gone. Grandma Paric got a full afternoon of baby snuggles while Grandpa Paric, Mr. Paric and I worked, and I told Grandma Paric as they were leaving that we should have been buying THEM dinner, instead of them buying us dinner the following evening. And then they were gone. And I cried again.
