This is a composition of the great saint Adi Shankaracharya. Here, he advises the people to sing the praises of Lord Govinda and immerse themselves in His worship. Seeking to amass wealth, boasting of one’s beauty or youth is foolish, he says. To free oneself from the illusion of the world of Maya and attain the timeless Truth should be one’s goal, is his philosophy. Finally, he beseeches the Lord to free him from the endless cycle of life and death by granting him salvation.
