Today I would like to welcome my good friend, and fellow scientist Alex to my channel! Alex has just graduated from King's College London with her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences (Bsc) and I thought this would be a great opportunity to interview her about her experiences as a student, researcher and scientist! After her second year of biomedical sciences, Alex managed to find, apply to and obtain an industrial placement year where she was able to work full time in a research lab for 12 months, carrying out a project in cancer biology. We met at this lab where I was studying my master's of research in Translational Cancer Medicine. In this interview I wanted to learn more about what it is like to work in industry or the research labs for a year, and ask more about how she obtained this place and what opportunities for jobs and careers there are, that can come out of this. She has also just been offered a job, which she was able to obtain through doing some work experience during one summer. She tells it all in this video, so please give her an extra warm welcome! :)
