Lots of people can roll their packrafts but how many can easily hand roll theirs? Jeremy Platt @wilderwheeling makes it look super easy in his Alpacka Raft Wolverine. Superb skills by Jeremy. So rather than trying to get out backcountry during these tough COVID-19 times perhaps think about the technical skills you would like to improve upon in the future. There is lots you can work on in flat water and even in a pool if you are lucky enough to have one. One way to improve whilst staying home is to watch slow motion footage of yourself (or others) and to analyse your/their techniques - what worked well and what didn’t. Many things become obvious at slow speed! We use slow motion in a lot of our packrafting courses and particularly in our advanced or high intermediate courses as it is such a valuable tool for teaching and learning.
