IndiGo is facing its toughest government action in years after more than 2,000 flights were scrapped due to poor pilot roster planning. The Ministry of Civil Aviation ordered a 10% cut in scheduled operations, hours after DGCA directed a 5% trim. DGCA has received IndiGo’s reply to a show-cause notice, with the airline seeking more time for a root cause analysis. Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu warned that no airline, regardless of size, will be allowed to inconvenience passengers through planning failures or non-compliance. Other airlines have been asked to add capacity to absorb demand.
